Spektrum - the future of RC RF??

I have been having some glitches where I fly at the local HS parkinglot/football field area. It is very disheartening and unnerving to be flying happily along and all of the sudden your plane does a full tilt boggie straight down. Or it decides to go vertical and stall. The full tilt down episode sucks big time when you favorite mode of flying is low and slow on the edge of stall. The asphalt is very unforgiving the grass near the sports fields is better but still a definite thud when your plane goes in...
Well in my last two RC magazines I saw a new TX/RX setup. It is made by SPEKTRUM and its model is the DX6. The two articles appeared in the current issues of FLYRC page 22 March 06 issue and BackYard Flyer page 59 also the March 06 issue.
Some of the Tech Specs are detailed on this link
Horizon Hobby also detailed a multi-page review and SPEKTRUM has that too on their site here
A couple of points that I keyed into from the magazine articles and were reiterated in the HH post were:
When using this system, (which operates just like you'll never have to worry about "noise" coming from your motor or speed control (or anywhere else on your model) affecting your radio's performance. Why? It's simple. Motor and model-generated noise has no energy above 300MHz. . Your DSM system operates nearly eight times higher in the frequency range (see chart.) Fact is, you can mount your AR6000 receiver directly to any speed control. It just doesn't care and won't be affected a bit.
I have to do some more reading up on this new rig on some of the RC Group forums and if looks good then I think this will be my next TX/RX. I fly too much on the spur of the moment in and around town to always have to be concerned about getting glitches or shot down even by the next door hospital/ambulance service transmitters.
